4 Steps to dealing with bailiffs
1. Check who the bailiff is and what they’re collecting for – Ask for ID and a written notice of the debt before discussing anything further.
2. Don’t ignore them, but don’t let them in – You are not usually obliged to let a bailiff into your home for most debts.
3. Ask for full details of the debt – Request a breakdown of what you owe and confirm it is correct, in your name and legally enforceable.
